In 2015 an new analytical expression for the time-ordered exponential was proposed. The time-ordered exponential is the solution of system of ODEs and appears in many chemistry and physics problems, such as nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy. Starting from this expression, we developed a numerical method for approximating the time-ordered exponential. In this presentation we will describe the steps that were taken in order to obtain an efficient numerical method. That is, discretization of the expression, error-controlled truncation of the resulting discretized problem, and efficiently solving the truncated discretized problem.
